Huge Variety of Outdoor Events

Our team has produced outdoor events for non-profit fundraisers, corporate events, community celebrations, trade shows, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, formal dinners, parades, concerts . . . just about anything that is an indoor event can be turned into an outdoor event at the right venue, with the right equipment, and the right planning with our experience, our creativity, and your inspiration.

Let's Get Started

Logistic Challenges in the Outdoor Space

The logistics of outdoor events can be more complex, and weather must be considered. There are certain things you can’t control, like rain or sun, but their effects can be mitigated with a feature tent and other strategies and equipment.

With the right planning, coordination, and resources, outdoor events can be enjoyed by family or employees and guests in spring, summer, winter, and fall.

Outdoor Events Logistics Planning

Outdoor events have key and unique challenges that we can help you navigate. The outdoor space can often require additional services and infrastructure. Compared to a traditional venue, this means additional costs and planning, but can also provide opportunities for customization to best fit the event and it’s guests.

The details of a great plan include amenities and services for guests like parking lots, bathrooms, wash stations with hot or cold water, communication infrastructure, catering logistics, utility services, concierge table, entertainment options, and other logistical considerations.

Emergency services like police, medical and fire should be in communication with the operations team. Media outlets should have one designated contact. We have experience setting up outdoor events in fields and parking lots. We can use our experience to bring in the right vendors and suppliers.

Our Experienced Team

Our team has excelled in the category of outdoor events for more than 20 years. Our experienced staff can help you plan and manage your outdoor events.

What is a Community Event?

Community events are celebrations of a county, town, neighborhood, or other area. Celebrations can be free to the public, require event tickets, or a combination.

Events can be financed by local governments, event tickets, sponsorships, or a combination. Public events can help connect the general public with community groups, companies, and other organizations. Organizers can plan a full calendar of community events or a single event. Community events can last for one day, a weekend, or for several weeks. Saturday and Sunday community events are the most common.

Community events can be held on a large private property, or in a park, or organizers can choose to close streets for the events. Publicity for the event can include local media, social media, an event-specific website, a community calendar, or publicity by any community members looking to show support.

Cultural Community Events

Cultural community events celebrate a specific ethnic culture. Make It Happen Events has worked on dozens of cultural events, including for International House Harrisburg and the World Stage at Musicfest.

We have produced cultural community events ranging from Hispanic Heritage festivals, German Christmas markets, and Chinese celebrations to Italian bocce tournaments. We place a priority on preserving and presenting the cultural traditions of many communities. Live music entertainment can be an inspiration, create interest, and offer an opportunity and content to learn about other cultures.

Military, Veterans, or Patriotic Community Events

National holidays like Memorial Day, Flag Day, Armed Forces Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, VE Day, VJ Day, Pearl Harbor Day, and 9-11 are opportunities to celebrate or commemorate national events with a community event.

Parades, flag raisings, encampments with reenactors, concerts, name readings, and of course, fireworks, can be great ways to celebrate. We have done all of those, and we’re always looking for more.

Community Events: Festivals & Fairs

We have produced WinterFest, PumpkinFest, KiteFest, BerryFest, Oktoberfest, and other outdoor events.

Ongoing Community Events

Do you have existing an festival, but your volunteer committee is running out of steam? We can integrate with your efforts and take on specific tasks to help continue your community event.

Work with us to carry on your community’s tradition of annual fairs, festivals, and other outdoor events. We want to help you make sure these traditions carry on for years to come.

Founding New Community events

We also love to make new traditions and create new events or fairs in local communities. We are preparing to celebrate the 5th Annual Christkindlmarkt in Lower Paxton. What great ideas do you and your group have to celebrate your community?
